Employers Breakfast 2007

Employers Breakfast.

11th May 2007

The latest Employers breakfast took place at the Angus Inn in May. As usual there was a good turnout representing many businesses and people who have taken on employers from Valley Transitionz. Andrew who is a Valley Transitionz volunteer worker talked about how difficult it is for Mental Health sufferers to get work and how important it was that we be given the chance to show our worth. Many people would probably agree that just because someone has a metal illness does not mean that they are completely immobilized from working.

Representatives from Shout talked about the success they’ve had with taking on Valley Transitionz workers and the way that those workers fit in straight away and give so much to their business.

Helen Macdonald from Work And Income gave us a very inspirational story about a client of hers who was given a very short period to live because of an illness he has and the way that this person was not going to let it stop him enjoying life. He went on to gain degrees from University and has lived way pass the period of time he was given to live. Helen will be really missed as she’s leaving her position as a work broker to take on another role at Work And Income. She’s been a great help to many clients of Valley Transitions and has been the person to introduce many people to Allen Taylor and V.T. Valley Transitionz and its clients thank her for all the support she’s given and wish her all the best for her new role at Work And Income

As usual it was a successful breakfast and we look forward to the next one.

A big thank you to all of those who turned up and who also shared their experiences.
